Whether it’s a fall, a car accident, or mishap at work, things happen. And when they do, individuals and families can rely on Earnings GuardTM plan to help protect them from the financial hardship a disabling accident can create. The UnionSecure Earnings GuardTM Plan starts paying you just 90 days after being in a disabling accident – any kind, anywhere in the world. When the bills have to get paid, it’s practical protection for you and your family. And it’s only available to union members beginning at just $9.50 a month for $1,000 in monthly benefits. - Choose from three levels of protection – $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 in monthly benefits up to 70% of your income – that you receive for one year after 90 days of being disabled. And this is in addition to any other benefits you may receive through social security, your employer's disability insurance plan or other private disability insurance plan.
- Any amount you collect from workers' compensation programs will be deducted from the Earnings GuardTM monthly benefits.
- A minimum benefit of $50 per month will be payable after offsets.
- Guaranteed coverage to you and your spouse ages 18-64. And guaranteed to pay for any covered disabling accident that happens anytime, anywhere – you have 24 hour coverage. Disabling accident must occur after the effective date of the policy. You and your spouse must be Actively-at-Work and reside in the U.S. in order to be eligible.
- Benefits are paid directly to you. You choose what to spend your monthly benefits on.
- Continue benefits if your disability reoccurs. If you return back to work for less than six months and the same injury that caused your disability returns, your benefits will begin paying again immediately. There’s no wait.
- Premiums do not increase and benefits do not decrease with age – you won’t pay more for your coverage, or lose any of your benefits, until the policy terminates at age 70.
- Strike waiver of premium – we’ll pay your premium for up to one year if you are involved in a union-sanctioned strike or lockout. May not be available for all unions or in all states.
- 60-day review period with a satisfaction guarantee.
- Rehabilitative employment benefit to help you get back to work.
- Coverage for part-time and seasonal workers. Eligibility is based on working an average of 325 hours per calendar quarter (average of 25 hours per week).
